ABOUT IWC

Indigenous Women Climb is a virtual and Land-based volunteer community dedicated to self-determination and representation of Indigenous Women/non-binary and Two-Spirit climbers in the outdoors.

Our work is to ensure Indigenous land/place based knowledge systems, protocols and governance practices exist in our relations to the outdoors.

There is room for you here

During these unprecedented times, it seems that more than ever our local and global communities are ready to take up the important work to unpack complex themes of power, privilege, colonization, and commit to personal transformation towards

anti-oppressive, anti-racist

and Land-based knowledge systems.

Inclusion does not mean leadership, transformation or meaningful change. Indigenous Women climb works to move beyond inclusion and support Indigenous leadership, self-determination and culturally reflective opportunities in climbing.  Our work supports Indigenous Youth Climbing groups and hopes to cultivate and support the next generation of culturally grounded, strong and courageous Indigenous climbers.

To educate
